AKGA NATIONAL CONVENTION COOKING CONTEST

It's official, the AKGA convention in Sallisaw, Oklahoma is 7 weeks away! Where did time go?! Once again, I am looking for people interested in joining the recipe cookoff. Last year we had wonderful food and a wonderful time. I am looking forward to more taste testing this year! Amongst the prizes will be $150-1st, $100-2nd, $50-3rd in Kiko Bucks, plus many other prizes.

The rules are simple: You have the choice of 1 to 3 pounds of either cubed meat, ground meat, or roast. We supply a place for you to prepare and cook your food in an airconditioned kitchen, but you need to bring your cooking source (crock pot, electric skillet, grill, etc...) and whatever else you need for your recipe. You may pick up your meat at 8 am and start whenever you need to. If you choose to use a grill, it will need to be setup outside the kitchen with someone watching it at all times for safety issues. Also, I would like a copy of your recipe ahead of time so I can make recipe cards for handouts. NOTE: Middlebrook Meat Goats has donated $300 in prize money, plus Nancy has been collecting donated items all year to give as prizes. Linda won it last year and still uses the items she won, and I appreciated the "kiko bucks" the next time I registered a handfull of kids. These prize bucks can be used for any service the AKGA provides or spent like cash on items offered by the AKGA store. Entries or questions can be sent to Nancy at the email address below.
